TRIPLE AND DOUBLE INSULATION GLASS
Insulating glass increases the thermal insulation of an interior space and consists of two (double insulating glass) or three (triple insulating glass) panes of glass.
CHARACTERISTICS OF TRIPLE AND DOUBLE INSULATING GLASS
Double insulating glass consists of two panes of glass with a cavity filled with noble gas and a special insulating coating between them. Triple insulating glass consists of three panes of glass, creating a second cavity filled with noble gas. Due to the extra sheet of glass, the second cavity and the second coating, triple insulation glass keeps about 40% more heat inside than double insulation glass.
APPLICATION
Double insulated glass is now the standard choice for both new builds and renovations. For a building that has been built very energy-consciously, triple insulating glass is the obvious choice. Triple insulating glass insulates better, but it is thicker and quite heavy. Therefore, when renovating, the window frame will also have to be replaced.
